Pay  Scale:   Rs.15,600-39,000 (PB-3)  + Rs. 5,400 (Grade Pay) (T.E. Rs. 45,990/- Approx.) + NPA + TA and HRA as admissible. General Central Service, Group ‘A’ Gazetted, Non Ministerial. 
Age*: 35 yrs

QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL: EDUCATIONAL:  (i)  A recognized medical  qualification included in the first or second Schedule or  Part II of the third schedule (other than licentiate qualification) to the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. Holders of the educational qualifications included in Part  II of the third schedule should fulfil the condition stipulated in Sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (ii)  Completion of Compulsory rotating internship. 
DESIRABLE:  Post graduate medical qualification in any discipline. 
DUTIES:   Civilian Medical Officer is an  adviser to  the unit Commander on health related matters.  His/her normal duties are as under :- 
(a) To provide medical care and arrange for    hospitalization/specialist treatment, where necessary.
(b) Inoculation and vaccination  of entitled personnel. 
(c)  To examine non-Gazetted Employees  for fitness in respect of  recruitment, etc.
(d)  To  maintain  medical documents/data/statistics, sanitation and promote family planning.
(e) To carry out any duty as may be assigned by the Medical  Directorate from time to time.  HQ:  New Delhi. However, they will be liable to serve anywhere in India.   
ANY OTHER CONDITIONS:   All India service liability.
